...About the upcoming winter storm? Curious.
have fun, ill enjoy the 75-80 degree weather this week :D
only expecting 6in of snow here wednesday. nothing to be excited about. But I love sliding around the corners tho!
dave you guys already have 3 feet of snow
Yeh Canada, get the hell out of here! ;-) jk
Chicago will be extra interesting as they say that on top of all the crap were supposed to get dumped on us in the next few days, there will be waves on Lake Michigan up to 25 feet. That would be cool.
My back hurts more just thinking about all the potential shoveling I may have to do.
Yeh, we got a snowblower and it helps but, I still have to shovel and Im not one to wait around for the snow to accumulate before cleaning it up. Although, if it does come down at a rate of 3 inches per hour like they say, it will be a bit self defeating.
North Eastern Iowa here, we are just about in blizzard weather. . . Snowing and Blowing like crazy right now and through Wednesday. Most of the towns are shutting down because of it.
Chicago is down. I went outside to assess things and the town was barren.
I just looked out the front of my GF's house with my aveo sitting across the street. . . the snow is about half way to the bumbper and I need to move it before it gets buried or stuck. That means a walk back to the gf's that will be about a mile or so in this winter wonder land. . .
Id just leave it.
We just had some thunder-snow, sweet!
It's moved, I posted how my trip went in the snow handling thread. I would have left it, but the plow would not have been able to get through in the morning without causing some damage.

Glad you made it. This is not a joke. I posted this in the other thread but will post it here.
For Cook Cty IL (Chicago Area)
REPORTS FROM MEDIA AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALLY INDICATE THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES HAVE GONE OFF THE ROADS. THE GOVERNOR HAS ACTIVATED THE NATIONAL GUARD WHO ARE CURRENTLY RESCUING STRANDED MOTORISTS.
Nope. Not excited. Only raining where I live. BORING. So much for the incredibly harsh January.
My neighbor got his car stuck in the middle of the street. Dude was a moron.
Rain does suck. But the part of Washington where I'm at is pretty dry, just cloudy & cold. I remember down here in Bonney Lake a few years ago, we had that part of 410 that is at the bottom of the hill going into Sumner just flood from all of the rain that day and from the last few days before! So that was closed, and we got out of school an hour early (even though that meant at the time only a 1/2 hour left. Our school sucked at things like that, we had a bomb threat last year, and weren't evacuated until the principle called 911 and asked what to do, so we got out 20 minutes early).
How does anyone let that happen to themselves? But then again, why do stupid people insist on getting on the roads when they probably shouldn't?
I didn't want my car to get literally plowed. I got stuck a couple of times last night, but rocking it did the trick. It is a pain in the ass to switch from 1st to reverse and back in our cars with the 5 spd.
Its not that bad, i did it many a time in my aveo.
Spent 3 hours snowblowing the driveway and its only 75% complete.
Alot of pain.
oh wooptidoo. We got upgraded from 6inches to 8 to 10 inches of snow.
a kid stole our shovel off the porch here at the house. Luckily for me, the kid wasn't too smart as I tracked his footprints to where he was. Now, the kid left his shovel on our steps. So, when I reclaimed my shovel after he told me he was "borrowing it" he followed me home.
Then he had the courage to ask for his shovel back. So, I told him he could have it back if he shoveled our sidewalk off. He turned around and walked away. I know it may have been a jerk move on my part, but, if I had to walk 6 blocks in knee deep snow to reclaim my shovel, then he's not going to just get his back without earning it. Sadly, for his part, the sidewalk wasnt that big and I had already shoveled it last night so there was only 6 inches of snow on it unlike the everything else that had a minimum of 18 inches ~ It only would have taken him 5 minutes.
heres the dialogue:
I walked up to him and said, "Son, looks like you got my shovel there."
HIM "Uhh uhh, it is?"
ME "Yeh, it is. You took it off our front porch."
HIM "I was just borrowing it."
ME "Im sure."
I grabbed our shovel back and walked home.
He followed me and when I got in our driveway he started to come into our yard.
ME "Son, if you come any further, I will call the police. You best get on"
HIM "Can I get my shovel back?"
ME "Oh, you mean the shovel you left on our porch when you stole our shovel? Sure you can have it back if you clean this sidewalk off with it. Or you can leave without it."
Then he turned and walked away.
Kinda pissed me off.
Lol, good one, lesson learned for him.
