      Burning smell

I have a strange occurance once I hit above 4000 rpm. Whether it be when Im trying to accelerate on the highway to pass or just in the fast lane. It smells like somethig is on fire under my hood. No visible signs of anything crispy. Anyone else have this problem?

u might be burning oil....whens the last time you changed it....i know when i put a tad bit too much in once that it got sucked into the intake and burned in the engine, but it only happened when i would push the engine hard i.e. above 4000 rpms

OORRR....I had a burning smell last october. And then...I discovered what it was!!! I had recently mounted a Fart Can on my car. It was melting my rear bumper. Now I need a Rear bumper, but I redid my exhaust so I'm good now. :P

BUT! In your case-I agree with the others....its probably your oil.

Hmmmm, it does make sense. I always take it to the dealer for the oil changes every 5,000 km. It wouldn't surprise me if they did overfill it. Thanx for the inputs

Perfect Example. Go to the 'HOW TO' section and read about the SG breather vent/catch can. It keeps the oil thats pushed thru your vent tube at high rpm's/ uphill climbs, and even too much oil @ change (3.75 quarts, then maybe top off -slowly- to the full line on your dipstick) from entering the intake. Either build one, or go to DLSpeedonline.com, or AveoAftermarket.com (a shameless plug for the man), and get a trick aluminum can. I honestly believe everyone would have less James Bond style smoke screens with this type product. I'm gonna try and post up a pic of the DIY version on this site... eventually.
