Remember, diesels have a very linear low end, and drop off quickly at high rpm. You just have to drive it differently.

The 1.9L TDI from the mk4 volkswagens had a peak hp of 90, but produced a peak torque of 155lb-ft.
yes but that has a turbo. A standard deisel will me mech different.
