The real trick with any printer as mentioned before is to install the software, prior to plugging the printer in.
Other than that, check the ink prices before buying a printer... get the one with the cheapest ink.

As long as you have Windows XP you can't mess up your reg. It keeps a back up for you.

I grab a extra "Black" when I buy a printer.
