      I hear you on that.

As for your engine, all you need is another head or to have the valves fix if the lower block is okay, no need for another engine. If you do not change the belt every 60k miles, you run the risk of it breaking and causing valve damage. There are a ton of threads if you want more details.

The heads are not something I can do myself, and the garage will charge less to change the engine, so if I can get an engine, a good one, that'll be the way to go.

You should be able to find a place to do a valve job for a couple hundred at max, or buy a head for $300~ and have them put it on, but either way it needs work. Maybe you can find cheap engines up there? I know some people here in the states have had trouble finding a decent engine, or they are expensive.

I haven't been able to find an engine yet, and I've been looking around for a while, but new heads, gaskets and a mechanic, will cost more than an engine, provided I can get one. I checked prices at 2 local garages, and they wanted close to 1000$ + to repair the damage, and can't confirm that it won't cost more. They both wanted near 300$ to check if the pistons have damage, so it worries me that it will cost more.

Quite a shock, but DLSpeed Sales has just issued a full refund via paypal. Though it was a long wait, having my car on jacks in the driveway waiting for parts that never came, I did get my money back. Too bad that couldn't happen before I wrote bad reviews!

A shop should be able to fix your head that you have now for under $500 (if they want $300 to check something, that is crazy). The dealer would do it cheaper lol

Good to see you got your money back!
