Was having a "skills" contest with auto paint..

It was a masking, "blending" and paint technique competition, sort of...

This is the "winner" (a lot of my help was involved)

It is all ppg auto paint, final product has about 9 separate colors.

Calculating "hours" is hard.. we spent two weeks of class off and on, mostly on, but that group has class for 1hour 15 minutes.. So its probably less than 10 hours.. might be 6? Most of the time spent was masking.

Here are the two runners up:

I'm guessing they are sideway or upside down.

Those have to be mustang hoods. It's got that rake back on the sides. In terms of design, I get the first one is way complicated with the paint, but the design is almost. My favoriate design is the yellow hood. Very well executed design.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

They are both vw hoods; one is a Passat or CC (10-12), the other is a 13' jetta. The round notch on the front should be a giveaway.

The school mascot is the mustang, so I get to have "mustangs" as the theme of car stuff. Which is good because I like the 60's, and 80s (fox body), 99+, and current mustangs (every other design, funny how that works..)

I'm not sure which of the two you refer to as yellow?
