i agree matchbox, but I respect Oscar and Fighting Irish greatly, I dont mind honda or any car for that matter, but when people live in the past and do not make any sense is what i do mind

I buy stuff based on my impression of the car, not what others think. Consumer reports has been called bias before, not just in the car market, but i could dig up a report showing any manufacturer has the best cars, you just need to look at the group of people being pooled.. but as i said, i dont care about what others think of my car.Originally Posted by AveoRob
As far as reliability, my aveo has 24k miles. broke down one time (fuel pump). thats beats the reliability of my vw r32, two audi a4s, my audi tt, my focus, my hyundai, jetta, mustang, and cadillac My neighbor has a new subaru, 4000 miles and it been to the dealer twice. My really good friend wife traded in her fit because it broke down 3 times in 4 months, it only had 12k miles, He had a focus that he got rid of for the same reason, now he has a 09 civic si. its been to the dealer once as well, i'm not sure of his current mileage but its not as high as my aveo.
So from my experience my aveo is very reliable. but since you want math, look up the number of recalls and tsbs on each. that might even swing the vote your way. but i can guess not one person on this site was asked by consumer reports about their aveo. so lets go with factory response versus "owner" experiences.. for all i know consumer reports got their survey list from "aveo owners with more than 60k and have not changed their timing belts"
is your aveo that much of a problem that you believe all the hype?
there is a lot more to totaling a car than this.Originally Posted by AveoRob

i see stuff like that all the time. nyc has a lot of totals because their labor is $120 an hour. so figure if a car need 15 hrs to repair and 15 hours of paint (low by my standards) that is $3600 in labor.. for the amount of work of replacing a bumper headlights hood and a fender. so say a corner hit in a parking lot right on the headlight the crease or cracked those three parts and pushed the hood over to crack the other headlight. and its going to be $1600 in parts. so a light parking lot hit by an suv costs $5200...
i'm not sure what was wrong with sergas car but if there is minor to no frame damage and you can do the work yourself a total is nearly meaningless. i have fixed cars that collapsed around the owners and were not totalled. a $30K wreck into a $50-60k car is not a total, think how much work that might be with a $40 labor rate.
We've also had companies not total a car once we had labor into it. so we have put $20k in a nissan sentra repairing it... $14k into a cavalier, things like this happen often.
from my experience, look at the car, not the title.
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
is that why the fit can run 17's?Originally Posted by mikedudley17
