      HP printer problem

Alright my laptop use to load at startup fast but ever since I installed the printer's software on my computer it starts up slow. Like it will take a min or two for the hp digital imaging monitor icon to load on the taskbar and then once it finally does all the networking and wireless software load right up and fast. So it has to be the printer software but there isnt a way to disable its load up at start, ive looked everywhere. Help

Start -> Run. Type regedit .... press enter.

      check
HKLM (HKEY LOCAL MACHINE) and HKCU (HKEY Current User)

Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Run

Delete the entries with the HP software.... Careful what you do here. You can really screw things up. While you're at it, delete the Quicktime, Acrobat Reader and Java Update (jushed.exe) from there.

couldnt you just run msconfig then go to startup and disable it?

That's not the proper way to do it. msconfig is a program that allows you diagnose which program is causing a problem. Once the problem is found (in this case we know what the problem is), you go to the registry editor to delete the unwanted entries.

msconfig should always be on Normal Startup. There is a lot of stuff in msconfig that shouldn't be touched as they are vital system services and drivers.

true, but, turning on or off any items under the "startup" tab in msconfig will not affect the computer startup, only the application, and will not permanently delete the item allowing you to turn it back on if needed. Editing the registry can be by far more harmfull and in some cases undoable if you do not have a backup. as startup settings can be restored easily using recovery console or the startup repair.
