      Remove the digital imaging crap unless you truly need it. Then grab JUST the printer driver (usually just an INF file) from HP, or attempt to install it using windows hardware installation wizard (windows may come with a working driver).
      Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

      Buy more RAM! I have to agree with brainless on this one. Both registry hacking and msconfig will stop the unwanted programs to load, as well as hijack this and many others, but registry hacking is dangerous for the inexperienced, and msconfig is reversable. Recovery console and startup repair will not fix third party installed drivers and programs, maybe system restore, but that is hit or miss and usually causes more problems than it fixes, especially if you did a windows update in between. Or as exodus said, uninstall all of the HP programs, and just use the windows add printer wizard and when it asks for the type of printer click have disk and browse to the folder that has the printer driver. That way you only get the driver and not all of the support programs.
