So im taking the Aveo to my new mechanic and we already had my moms 99 Durango at this shop getting worked on and it was finished, so why not make a mechanic happy by picking up one vehicle and dropping off another, right? The Aveo got to the shop no problem with light snowfall Saturday afternoon. Driving the Durango back home from the shop i pass a Penndot plow truck spraying their toxic mix of salt and other metal eating goodness going the other way. I move over more toward the shoulder to avoid getting the spray on the Durango and 3 cinders fly up, one chipping the window. Now this Penndot truck must have been going id say 45 in a 30 around a corner. This little chip seems to be no big deal for about 30 seconds until it spread across the bottom half of the windshield. I make it home about 10 miles down the road and my mom could see the crack in the window before I even pulled in the driveway. Along with the 150 dollar bill for fixing a dryrotted power steering line, she also has to get a new windshield put in her suv so she wont get pulled over. (my cousin is the guy in the forest city pa video with the cop that has the out headlight that went viral and that cop is a real pain.) So another 200 bucks for a new windshield installed, going in Wed. Plus probably another 30 bucks to get her car inspected cause its due in march and the glass company makes you get a new inspection if you have less than 6 months left. This week is one for the books for sure!
