Also, any idea about ease of working on these cars? I've found the Aveo was fairly simple. Any idea about any of these new cars?

They're all pretty simple vehicles, I wouldn't imagine one would be much better than the other.

Plus I looked at the Mitsubishi already. They are 3 cylinder engines and the automatic is the "latest, greatest" CVT (not a very good track record for CVTs so far). The dealer only had Mitsubishis w/autos in stock and the stickers were around $18,500! I wish they would of had a manual shift to test out.

PS - we get additional GM retiree discount through my mother.
The manual numbers aren't quite as favorable to the Mirage. You'd spend $3120 in gas with the Spark vs $2897 with the Mirage. A savings of $223 per year. This is also assuming $3.60 per gallon of gas, and using the highway rating for each vehicle, and just the miles to work and back for her. Still, after 4 and a half years that is a thousand bucks saved... Chances are you probably use it for more than JUST traveling to work and back though, so the savings will be higher than that.

out of the choices given, I'd definitely go with a turbo sonic and get a catless DP, intake and a Trifecta tune via BNR (bad news racing). Would be one sweet little zappy chevy.

Yeah, I'm wondering how this decision turned out.
