mazda 3 is like a base model cobalt.
this thread is about the Mazda 2, not the 3. It's the Ford Fiesta's little sister. I actually have been keeping up on the Mazda 2's reviews and alot of people have said it's less value for money and a worse overall deal than it's sister car, the Ford Fiesta.Quote:

The small car market in the us is backwards from the rest of the world. People buy small cars elsewhere because they are the norm. And then move up from there. But in the us SUVs and mid size cars are the norm so people buying small cars are looking for efficiency as much as value. So we have to pay for that. Plus the additional in safety equipment, emissions certification, and such.
As well as the fact that a 12000 car versus a 14000 car the price difference is over 10%. Even though we would like to see $4-5000 between tiers of models. That's not what we get.
but if you read the question the OP posted. why did they make a mazda 2, when they have 3. because the 3 is like a cobalt. im well aware of what this thread is about.Quote:

isnt the mazda 2 a car that was already available, and just being remarketed for the us?
only advantage i see, is there is a 2 door hatch. if that version comes to the us.. a 2 door mazda 3 would be better.
and for not much more, people complain about the aveo's power, and the mazda's slower than it lol
I dont know. It looks like a fun little car to bop around in if you get the manual.
