If you have ever seen, or remember seeing archive episodes of the Johnny Carson Show before Jay Leno took over, Johnny always had this schtick routine he did at the beginning of each show. His bit was to tell complex, stupid jokes that weren't funny in and of themselves. The funny part was in his subsequently trying to explain the humor after he delivered the punchline. The facial expressions, timing, tone of voice and explanations were what broke people up.Quote:
